Dear Subscribers, fans, followers, internet searchers and more,
Today I'm announcing some updates to our Terms of Service:
As some of you may or may not know, USPS raised their postal rates on January 17, 2016. USPS is the primary shipping carrier of Mama's MilkBox. The shipping rates did not increase by a small percentage (we could have absorbed, perhaps, a 10% increase) - but an astronomical 20-30%. As such, to be honest, I've spent the last 4 days contemplating the future of Mama's MilkBox. We are frequently compared to many well oiled machines but while I am flattered, we are still a small and rapidly growing company and the rate increases are not sustainable with our current program. I spent a lot of time running this week (I do my best thinking while I exercise) and unfortunately, "Something's gotta give."
Effective TODAY (for new Subscribers), I am partially excited to announce that Mama's MilkBox will be dropping it's Styling Fee to $29/box and we will be providing shipping both to and from your location. In some ways, this is a vision I had for the future of Mama's MilkBox (I have always wanted to provide labels for your convenience) but a departure from some of the uniqueness of our Service that I loved (specifically, we will not be able to retain any Styling Fee Credits that may accumulate on your account).
Maybe I'm just a creature of comfort but it is sad for me to say goodbye to our "Old Service" - the original service that I think many Mamas have grown to know and love. In other ways, I am excited to meet some of the visions I've had for this company as we continue to grow (for example, of course I also want to send you CUTE boxes but it should be noted, I've never taken that leap because my primary goal of this company has always been to be able to provide the most fashionable and best nursing clothes available at the lowest prices possible and, as such, I've never taken on any unnecessary "overhead" that would cause us to have to raise apparel prices).
I anticipate the next three weeks will be very confusing for our Subscribers who have been with us since the beginning and, particularly, subscribers who have signed up under our previous Terms but are still within the waiting period before they receive their first box. For simplicity, if you were charged $39, your Mama's MilkBox will be still under our previous Terms. If you are charged $29 (our website was updated today), you will be receiving your first Mama's MilkBox under our new terms.
CURRENT SUBSCRIBERS WILL NOT BE ENROLLED IN THE NEW TERMS (ie, charged $29) UNTIL FEB 1.
If you have any questions, please see below* and don't hesitate to email me. If I receive a lot of questions, I will compile an additional blog post with a Q&A. Please accept my apologies in advance for the confusion I know this will cause (we're Moms! Some of you will probably have to read this three times!) and thank you for your patience as we grow and update our Service (it's a challenge even for our Team - just as we were revving up, this is slowing us down a little).
And as always, thank you for being a Mama's MilkBox subscriber.

*Q: If I have a Styling Credit on my account, will I lose it?
A: No. Customer satisfaction and good service are very important to Mama's MilkBox. If you have Credits on your account or a box that goes out under the $39/Styling Fee, you will be able to retain a Styling Fee credit until it is used or you cancel.
Q: I am in the queue waiting for my first box but I like the new terms, can I get my box under the new Terms?
A: Sorry. If you have already been charged the $39, you are in the queue and we cannot make changes to your Terms.
Q: I am a current subscriber with a box set to ship before February 1. How will my Mama's MilkBox be processed?
A: You will be charged $39 and still fall under our Previous Terms. If your box is scheduled to go out after February 1, you will be charged $29 and your Mama's MilkBox will fall under our New/Current Terms.
Q: Can I change my ship date so that I can get my box before the Feb 1 change?
A: Unfortunately we're not able to accommodate a change in shipment date that moves your box sooner rather than it is currently scheduled.
